2020 SITI Summer Theater Workshop

2020 Skidmore Summer Intensive
June 7 - July 4, 2020
Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY

SITI Company and Skidmore College are hopeful that we will be able to host an exciting month of creation this June as planned. With change coming at us so rapidly, we offer you the following updated application deadline and Skidmore’s updated refund policy should the program be cancelled. We look forward to being in rooms with you again soon and hope you’ll choose to apply to SITI Summer Theater Program. Below a few updates from Skidmore College Summer Programs:

“Skidmore College is closely monitoring the situation related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will continue to work with and follow the guidelines of the CDC, the New York State Department of Health, and the Saratoga County Department of Health. If it becomes necessary for the College’s Office of Special Programs to cancel a summer program, all application and program fees will be refunded. The official source of information on COVID-19 for Skidmore College is here: https://www.skidmore.edu/covid19/index.php . On March 20, the U.S. Department of State temporarily suspended all routine visa services at U.S. Embassies and Consulates. International artists who are not U.S. Citizens and do not already have a student visa, should e-mail summertheater@skidmore.edu and we will refund your application fee with our sincere hope that we will see you soon.

We will continue accepting applications past the originally scheduled deadline of March 23. We hope this gives other prospective applicants enough time to assess their own situations and apply when they know more. We hope you will share our program as an option to the many artists whose summer plans have been upended by COVID-19.

Artists who need to cancel their application to the intensive due to circumstances brought forth by the pandemic will receive full refunds. If you have specific questions please email us at: summertheater@skidmore.edu or training@siti.org.We wish you and your families well.”

Sixty artists are invited to take part in an intensive workshop that includes rigorous, physical work, theoretical research, and the generation and performance of new work by each participant. The program’s objective is to develop courageous theater artists who are able to integrate new influences from many disciplines into their work. The curriculum is designed for pre-professional and professional artists.

This summer SITI Company will be hosting a series of guest artists to share their collaborative processes with workshop participants. Over the last decade SITI has focused our work on collaborations with prolific artists and companies. By exploring the work of the guest artists alongside our core training of Suzuki, Viewpoints and Composition, participants can experience the fullness of SITI’s collaborative process.

Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply to match the variety of artists we will be hosting this summer.
