FALLING & LOVING is a new, interdisciplinary production combining the forces of Elizabeth Streb and her company, STREB EXTREME ACTION; with world-renowned theater director, Anne Bogart and SITI Company; and playwright Charles L Mee. FALLING & LOVING combines STREB’s signature movement style – which thrills audiences with choreographed feats of physicality, scientifically planned chaos, strength, risk, grace and elegance – with SITI Company’s eloquent interpretations of Charles Mee’s stunning language.

Based on the circular nature of the four seasons with perspectives on the correspondingly cyclical quality of relationships, FALLING & LOVING explores embodiments of love through action, revealing universal manifestations of love that can speak to audiences of all ages and backgrounds everywhere. This transformative collaboration of creative approaches, styles, and movement vocabularies, requires bravery and outrageous courage from the artists and a spirit of adventure from audiences in a world that is increasingly challenged by fear of differences.

The dancers and actors will dodge swinging bowling balls while water, sand, feathers, paint balls, and other materials cascade down from Elizabeth Streb’s newest ACTION machine, the Guck Machine, without interrupting the narrative. Through an explosion of visual, physical, and emotional artistry, FALLING & LOVING aspires to both celebrate and transcend our assumptions and perceptions of love.
