In this class, we will study the Alexander Technique and the Suzuki Training. Through rigorous practice, artists will discover ways in which the Alexander Technique can help them work with more efficiency and stability, as well as breathe more deeply and fully during training. We will practice working with energy and release at the same time. To accomplish this, we will use notions of body mapping: how does your body work? By differentiating the parts of the body, we can reintegrate them in our thinking and kinesthetic awareness.
Fabio Tavares brings a wide range of experience and knowledge to the class, both as a certified Alexander Technique and Klein Technique instructor, and as a performer and member of STREB Extreme Action Company for 14 years. Stephen Webber will draw his decades of experience with the Suzuki Training.
